At Grand River Eye Care, we help you see, look and feel your best. We are an independent Optometry Practice, Eyewear Boutique, Dry Eye Clinic and Medi Spa in Waterloo, with leading-edge dry eye and aesthetics treatments.

This job requires previous experience in the Optical field.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Optician/Optical Sales Associate / Optometric Assistant to join our team. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for glasses/lenses selection and sales, medical pre-testing, history taking, edging. Responsibilities

  • Managing patient flow
  • pre-testing, dispensing sales, edging, ordering and coordinating with team members
  • Educating patients about the best frame and lens choices to ensure they receive the best in quality and value
  • Interpreting optical prescriptions as written by the Optometrists
  • Performing frame and lens measurements to ensure correct fit and positioning of eyewear (manual and automated with VisiOffice)
  • Repairing and adjusting patients’ eyewear
  • Medical testing including OCT scans, auto refraction, visual fields and corneal topography
  • Dry eye testing including tear osmolarity and inflammation testing

The Successful Candidate

  • Is passionate about customer experience and is a great communicator in the English language
  • Previous optometric/optical experience
  • Has a flair for fashion and the latest style trends and is interested in sales
  • Is committed to excelling as a member of a high-performing team
  • Is able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Has good computer knowledge, including the Microsoft Office suite
  • Is able to work in Canada immediately
